From: Coops Subject: RSG-OHIO 2006 into the wee hours Thursday night, DaveT had just checked us in... then comes Steve Stemmer 'n Mark Georg by way of last call at Rooster's with Stemma only now getting his room 'n Sir Marcus like New Orleans walks his dark beer 'n four WC sliders to where he now stood - against a post he was holding up in the Microtel lobby... a proper RSG-OH greeting if there ever was... friendly greetings continue next morning at Blacklick Woods, and some new faces for me. the irrepressible Scott Newell introduces me to Kelly, who's personality might be even bigger than her' royal hotness... so sorry to be taking the afternoon off 'n not getting to tee it up with her. but my foursome includes Tex - who's always good on-course company and teaching me something... and a coupla' new guys Rob Pyle & Phil Chapekis - who wondered about hanging at RSG-OH... as if! Phil's got one of those sweet swings, Rob just crushes the ball and w/in a few holes we're talking trash like ol' friends. this was gonna be an interesting round... my golf this year has been limited to RSG weekends. Pittsburgh, Hershey... that's it. So w/ DaveT busting me for playing so little, was really looking forward to Cow-lum-bus '06. And prior to coming, put a coupla' hybrids in the bag... which as Rob would say, who hit his so straight, so long it's like stealing! so, the new clubs warmed up nice at Blacklick... and continued to heat up hitting practice balls on the range at Foxfire... and despite Super's warm intros, they went ice cold on the first tee / first hole at Th Players Club. And if I'd only taken a starting seven would have made my goal of breaking 100! But my great mates Neal Bell, Joe Dean and David Sneddon got me settled down quickly and had lots 'o fun thru th round! but getting back to Friday, was glad to loan Jon Green my clubs so he could play in the afternoon, my back was making some noise so rested it to play at Foxfire. In the meantime caught up with folks as they teed off at th Links at Groveport. Dan Gray, another new face who I think bought the beer after the tourney round... thanks again Dan! so thanks to a tip from Rob Pyle, on my way back stopped by Kroger 'n picked up some electrolyte powder... and then thinking about Koenig's 'n my back, lined up a massage therapist - just in case... but, turned out a good dinner and some great craft beer courtesy of Charles Bernard and Rob Pyle were all that was needed. A big thanks to Beau Smith for some good conversation and driving me to th airport. Along th way we passed "Stinky Links" and was think'n how much fun Sunday would be... so leaving happy 'n hungry for more of the same is never a bad thing. Thanks again Thor! --Coops
